Bad mood is one of the worst things you can experience. It does not just ruin your day; it can also ruin others’ because sometimes when you’re in a bad mood, you do not notice how awful you act around people. Your decision making is also affected which will then lead to more problems. At worst, your immune system may weaken, leaving you vulnerable against viruses and diseases.

So how do we get rid of a bad mood? Are there solutions to this kind of problem? Studies show that there are ways to erase a bad mood without the need to unleash terror around you. The simplest way is to laugh. Research has proven that laughter boosts your immune system and helps you feel great. It also increases the release of endorphins in your brain. Endorphins are hormones that occur in the brain and helps increase your mood and affects the way you feel emotionally. Aside from laughing, endorphins can be released by exercising. Physical activity is not only important to your body but is also beneficial to your moods. Endorphins are released when you do strenuous exercises such as brisk walking, running, or aerobic exercises. Listening to soothing music can also help alleviate your mood. Studies show that thirty minutes of listening to relaxing music such as classic or instrumental sounds have an effect equal to that of an antidepressant. So before you throw your money to buy relaxer pills or medicines, try listening to calming music first and see if it chases your bad mood away.

Finding your own special place also proves to be a solution to getting rid of bad mood especially if there is chaos around you most of the time. Sitting by the beach, climbing a mountain, or even just sitting by the garden can help you relax and concentrate on the beautiful surroundings around you. You can also create a space in your home where you can have an alone time. It will help you regroup which in turn can aid you in focusing more on the positive things in life.

All in all, it depends on our reaction to the environment around us. Each person is different. What makes one happy does not necessarily mean it will help another person. You just have to know which is effective for you.
